New float32 and such...
I know I havent been paying much attention to the site due to work and such, but just to let everyone know, float32 WILL extend into clear sky in august. The site may be slow from time to time until then, but that is fine.
Clear sky code has already been demonstrated....sorta and should be available within a few days of clear sky release.

The site them is going to be tested a few days...
...So let me know what you registered forum folks think. I have some plans for the site besides software and a new theme will be appropriate. the currents seems too dark and amateur.
Thanks, jjwalker

Over the Easter holiday i had to have emergency surgery for appendicitis, and I am feeling rather poorly. I am keeping this short for this reason but I will be back in action soon.

Next Float32 well under way...
The next Float32 version is well on its way to release. I am unsure of a release date of any sort at the moment, but all testers should keep an eye on the super secret forum for updates and test releases!

This will not be the last...
More Float32 to come for SHOC.
I am not sure on how many realeses, but the newer releases will have increased calculations (for the sake of detail) and detour away from pure speed. My decision is based on the fact that newer generation hardware is out to support and warmly asccomidate some DX9 features that came way too late. I do apologize to the folks with lower end hardware, but all things must come to an end (you can only optimize SO much). It will now be adding and adding code wise to draw more pretty scenes for you.
If the low end crowd complains enough, i may change my mind, so register with the site and sound off!

Last Float32 (last planned) for Stalker - SHOC
The final Float32 for Shadow of Chernobyl is planned for released Monday, February 18th. Change list below...
1) New dynamic code branching on the fly 2) Improved atmospheric lighting 3) New cubemapping (since cards are generally faster these days)
The new cube mapping will create a slight deecrease in performance, but it will not be significant. I chose to add this due to the increased speed of today's cards (and assuming the majority have upgraded to at least a mid-range card).
Go get it!

Float32 for Crysis and STALKER
There will be one MAYBE two more releases of Float32 for STALKER SHOC until Clear Sky comes out. I am actually playinbg Stalker for the first time, and I do not like a few things.
Crysis is going to take a bit of time, so do not expect drastic changes and improvements for the first few releases as it's clean slate baby!
ALSO IN THE NEWS!
thefloatingpoint.org/science will be opening up soon. I have my hand in many many places including nuclear physics and tesla coils!
As always, help support the site and blah blah...
